“Three Labour MPs accused of fiddling their expenses were told yesterday that their argument that they should not face a criminal trial will be heard on the predicted day of the general election. David Chaytor, Elliot Morley and Jim Devine will claim that they are protected from prosecution by the ancient right of parliamentary privilege.”
